Manchester City are prepared to open discussions with Shaun Wright-Phillips in regards to a new deal.
The 28-year old winger has two years left on his Eastlands contract and wants to sign a five-year extension, shoring up his future with the club.
Initially, City were skeptical of allowing the England international to put pen to such a long contract but have now indicated that they are happy for him to sign a four-year deal and have reopened discussions.
