Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is keen on Bayern Munich striker Lukas Podolski.

The Mail on Sunday says Eriksson is exploring the possibility of signing the Germany international on-loan to the end of this season.

Podolski, who would fetch at least £15million on the open market, is regarded as potentially his country's best forward since Gerd Muller.

He was one of the brightest stars at the last World Cup but has struggled to win his place back in the Bayern side this season after injury.
