City boss Roberto Mancini had both his top scouts in the stands to see Napoli star Ezequiel in action against Chelsea.
And El Pocho didn't disappoint, scoring twice in the 3-1 win.
Mancini sees Lavezzi as a long-term replacement for Carlos Tevez and confirmed his interest last month.
