Man City scoff at Real Madrid moaning over Gago failure
Manchester City have dismissed Real Madrid cricitism over the failed deal for Fernando Gago.
The Daily Mail says City returned for Gago at the 11th hour on deadline day after Kenyan McDonald Mariga was denied a work permit to join them from Parma.
Although a deal was agreed when Madrid lowered their asking price to £15.8m, it was too late to push through before the 5pm deadline on Monday and Real rejected City’s request to take Gago on loan.
Real’s sporting director Jorge Valdano said: "They had nothing prepared. They had not reached an agreement with the player and they would have had to have done everything in 40 minutes."
City insist they could not have discussed terms with Gago until they had a deal in place with his club because that would have been tantamount to tapping him up. They have also rubbished speculation that the deal collapsed because owner Sheik Mansour could not be contacted to ratify it.

defination of revenue = income
how does a club get income? tickets, merchandise and sponsors.
how does a billionaire give money to his club? get his other companies to:
a) sponsor the club for a record fee say 100 million/ year
b) buy up tons of the clubs merchandise
i may be wrong, but the new rule will make it hard for a club to go into big debt or bankrupt, but for clubs like Chelsea or MC, it ain't gonna happen. money will still continue to get in.
but i do agree that MC is a big joke!
man city are a joke of a club, gary cook is the main one who is messing up, the kaka deal said he wasnt very professional, now the madrid deal. they dont know how to handle the big clubs like milan and madrid or big players only rejects like adebayor, bellamy and tevez. all this will be over in two years time when the new fifa statutes come in about wages to revenue and spending in comparison to the revenue.
