Manchester City's development executive Patrick Vieira suggests that Manchester United do get preferential treatment from referees when at home.
The league leaders should have conceded a penalty late in their 1-0 win at Old Trafford over Fulham on Monday night after Danny Murphy had been brought down in the area by Michael Carrick but referee Michael Oliver waved away the protests.
Vieira today told BBC Sport that he feels City's title rivals are given some favours by match officials when playing in front of their home fans.
"When you go to United, Madrid, Barcelona, or Milan, it's always difficult for the referee to go against these kind of teams.
"This is the way it is. It's something the teams who are used to winning get all the time, so we need to win games so we have this advantage in the future.""When United play at home they get some advantage that other teams don't get," he said.
