Man City's Sinclair has surgery to remove blood clot

Manchester City winger Scott Sinclair has had an operation to remove a blood clot in his shoulder.

The 24-year old was admitted to hospital on Friday after complaining of feeling ill and it was soon discovered that he needed to have surgery to get rid of the clot.

"We are very sorry for Scott but we hope he recovers quickly," said City boss Roberto Mancini.

"Scott is getting better, he is in the hospital."

Sinclair will remain in hospital for the next little while but is likely to be discharged on the weekend.
