Man City's Sinclair has rib removed to help with blood clotting issue

Scott Sinclair has had a procedure to remove a rib in order to help with his current blood clotting problem.

The Manchester City winger sustained a blood clot on his shoulder recently, which required removing, but the issue has not fully gone away and he has now undergone further surgery to try and fix the troublesome area for good.

Reports suggest that Sinclair had his top rib removed as it was pressing on a nerve which was bringing about the clotting and will now need around three months to recover.

The former Swansea City ace will be able to join in with fitness drills in about 12-weeks' time but will have to wait to get into full contact training meaning he will have a late start to season 2013/14.
