Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz has an uncertain future after missing out on a loan move to Lazio.
With Premier League clubs set to trim their squads to 25, the Paraguayan faces some time of being unsure of just exactly where his career is at.
City boss Roberto Mancini has told Santa Cruz that he does not plan to use him this season meaning the 29-year old will have to train with the reserves and then hope a club comes in to loan him.
"I have always been happy at City and was looking forward to the season and to being part of a great club here," he said.
"Unfortunately, the manager has told me he won't be counting me for the rest of the season.
"All I can do is train hard, not get angry, prove my fitness and hope a loan can be sorted out.
"Lazio were there to take me but a deal could not be agreed."
