Manchester City’s Brazilian star Robinho hopes to be competing for the World Player of the Year title in coming years.

Manchester City’s Brazilian star Robinho hopes to be competing for the World Player of the Year title in coming years.

The 24-year old has begun his Premiership career in superb fashion by netting seven goals for City and wants to turn that form into major individual awards.

"My objective is to be the best in the world, without a doubt," he said.

"I hope that in the next few years I can compete in the trophy for the best player in the world."
