Micah Richards is looking to prove himself for the Great Britain Olympic team after he was selected as one of three overage players.
The 24-year old Manchester City right-back was picked in Stuart Pearce's Team GB squad ahead of David Beckham but he is not about to let that talk affect his performances at this summer's Games.
"No, I don't think there's any extra pressure because of that," he told the London Evening Standard.
"You have to deal with pressure every time you play and, although this might be a little more special, I just want to go out and play my normal game.
"But I don't think it's really right for me to comment on what happened with David Beckham. That situation was totally down to Stuart Pearce.
"Obviously, when I didn't get selected for the Euros but got picked in the preliminary squad for Team GB I had one eye on coming here.
"Now all I can do is give 100% and show everyone why I am in the squad."
