Man City's Richards happy to be in same league as Man Utd

Manchester City defender Micah Richards says it is a nice feeling to be up there with crosstown rivals Manchester United.

Despite squandering a two-goal lead to eventually draw 2-2 at Fulham yesterday, City remain second on the table with an unbeaten start to the season and Richards is delighted to be giving some competition to reigning champions United.

"It's always nice to have a bit of competition," he told Sky Sports News.

"We've always lived in the shadow of United a little bit so it's nice to be competing with them now."

He added about yesterday's game: "It felt like a loss in the end but it's a point at the end of the day.

"It's terrific how far we've come. We've got great players now, great support, a good manager behind us now so it's good."
