Man City's Pellegrini has subtle dig at champions Chelsea

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has had a cheeky swipe at newly-crowned champions Chelsea.

The Blues defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Stamford Bridge to claim the 2014/15 title, taking it off City who were last season's premiers.

Pellegrini's side beat Tottenham 1-0 at White Hart Lane to remain in second position and after the match, it was evident that the Chilean was not about congratulate Jose Mourinho and his champion team.

"I am very happy because I think that we played well against a difficult team," the City boss said.

"(Tottenham is) a team that plays very attractive football, that beat Chelsea.

"Champion this year with the best defence, but Chelsea concede five goals here (on New Year's Day).

"I congratulate Mauricio Pochettino and his players because they play attractive football. We also do it.

"It was an amusing game and I think the fans really enjoyed it."

Sergio Aguero netted the only goal of the contest in the 29th minute to take his season tally to 22 in the league.
