Man City's Pellegrini happy to produce win over possession-happy Swansea

Manuel Pellegrini was extremely pleased with his Manchester City side as they defeated Swansea City 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Alvaro Negredo's early opener and Samir Nasri's second-half double allowed City to record a seventh straight win at home, placing them third on the table, and thrilling the boss who felt they did well to overcome a positive Swans outfit who came to play.

"It was another clear home win. We played against a good team. Swansea had a lot of possession especially in the first half," he told Sky Sports.

"In the second half, we made a real difference and we won well in the end.

"They made it difficult and I think they have the second best possession record in the league after us.

"In the second half we defended well and scored two more goals so we are happy.

"The two we scored in the second half were impressive and we hope to improve in our next two games away from home."
