Man City's Marwood excited about Porto clash

Manchester City's football administration officer Brian Marwood is looking forward to the big Europa League clash with FC Porto.

City will meet the reigning champions of Europe's second tier club competition after both sides failed to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League and Marwood sees it as a very testing two-legged fixture.

"Well, it's amazing isn't it? I mean, gone through probably the hardest group in the Champions League, and disappointed not to have gone through to the next stages, we now get the holders," he told Sky Sports News.

"So, a big game for the club and one we'll be taking seriously as (manager) Roberto (Mancini) said after we were knocked out of the Champions League.

"We need to focus on Porto. It's going to be two games home and away amongst a lot of fixtures over the next three months actually and they're all games we're excited about."

The first Round of 32 meeting of Man City and Porto will take place on February 16 at Estadio do Dragao with the return leg at the Etihad Stadium the following week.
