Man City's Mancini to receive £50m war chest

Manchester City hierarchy will reportedly give manager Roberto Mancini a £50million hand-out to strengthen his squad in January. The City bosses are determined to improve on the current third-placing of the team therefore will provide some more cash to splash when the winter transfer market commences.

Mancini already has some players in his sights and it is expected he will pursue Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko and/or Porto's Hulk whilst Barcelona full-back Dani Alves has also emerged as a strong target.

During the January window, City may also look to offload the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz to raise further funds.
