Man City's Mancini and Tottenham's Redknapp excited about New York Football Challenge

The managers of English Premier League clubs Tottenham and Manchester City are extremely excited about the upcoming New York Football Challenge.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp and City mentor Roberto Mancini believe the tour, to be held in New Jersey in July, is a great opportunity for their clubs to experience football in the USA and are both truly looking forward to the event.

"It should be a fantastic tournament," Redknapp said. "We, too, have a big support in New York, lots of English people over there. Having spent many years in America during the '70s playing with Seattle and playing against the Cosmos when soccer was really big in America, it's a great city to visit and we're very much looking to come to New York to play in this tournament."

Mancini said he was eager to return to the US, where he toured the country with Italian club Lazio.

"I was in the United States when I was a manager in Lazio and we worked very well for 15 days," he said. "Now in New York, because I think the standards of the facilities are very high, Red Bull [Arena] is an excellent one which I'm sure we can play some great football."
