Belgium's Vincent Kompany has heaped praise on teammate Eden Hazard for his response after starting last night's World Cup qualifier on the bench.
The Chelsea ace replaced Mousa Dembele at half-time when the scoreline read 0-0 with Scotland in Brussels before he supplied Kompany with the second goal after Christian Benteke's 69th minute opener.
Manchester City captain Kompany suggested that the fact Hazard started on the bench shows that there is plenty of depth in Marc Wilmots' Belgian squad whilst commending the youngster on his second-half showing.
"We've got five or six players who can play around those positions and there are none of them who you can fault for effort, quality and talent," he said.
"It's always a difficult decision and I think the manager was probably brave.
"Eden had the perfect attitude, the perfect response, and it just shows why he is a big player. For us, it's great to have so much quality.
"I can tell you one thing, and this is the great thing about this team, no matter how many good players we've got, the team spirit is unbelievable."
