Man City's Hart: I hold no personal grudge towards Bayern's Boateng

Joe Hart insists he has no ill-feeling toward Jerome Boateng following tonight's Champions League clash between Manchester City and Bayern Munich.

Germany defender Boateng, formerly a City player, scored the only goal in the Group E opener at the Allianz Arena to give the Bavarians a narrow win while well and truly plunging the dagger into the heart of his old teammates.

But City goalkeeper Hart has made it clear that there is no problem with Boateng who left Eastlands to join Bayern in June 2011 after just one year in England.

"Jerome's a good guy and someone I got on well with - you can't hold personal grudges on a football field," Hart said of Boateng.

"It was the deflection more than anything. Either I would have got it or it would have gone wide had it not hit the guy (Mario Gotze), but that's football.

"It was tough, but away from home against Munich you are going to play a bit differently than you would at home and they maybe needed the win that little bit more than us. That makes it a little more disappointing."
