Man City’s Barry says he will be right for World Cup

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has told England manager Fabio Capello he will be fine for next month’s World Cup.

The former Aston Villa man has been struggling with an ankle injury of late but a specialist said he should be fine for England’s second group stage match against Algeria in Cape Town on June 18.

Capello still has decisions to make on his squad, especially with a number of midfield options at his disposal but will wait until June 1 before making his final cut.
