Manchester City star Sergio Aguero is adamant that his former club Atletico Madrid were worthy winners of last season's Europa League.

The Spanish club beat La Liga rivals Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in the final earlier this month and former Rojiblancos striker Aguero was thrilled to see his old club do so well.

"They deserved to win the Europa League," he told AS.

"The players deserved to win, and hopefully they can give the fans more joy with the European Super Cup."
