Manchester City have rubbished reports they're prepared to sell Emmanuel Adebayor to Juventus.

Adebayor was quoted by the Italian media as saying he was ready to quit City after just one season due to the club's pursuit of other forwards, notably Inter Milan teenager Mario Balotelli.

However, there have been conflicting reports regarding the validity of the quotes and City have been quick to stress they are not looking to offload Adebayor.

Using their Twitter feed, City said: "Take it from us everyone, despite reports, MCFC has no plans to sell Emmanuel Adebayor; our new No.9 for this season - and that's official."
