Manchester City are being linked with Barcelona midfielder Alex Hleb.
The former Arsenal star will return to Barca at the end of this season after an ill-fated loan spell with Stuttgart.
Barca are desperate to find a buyer for Hleb and L'Equipe says Manchester City will rival Aston Villa in attempting to bring the Belarussia international back to the Premiership.
City are said to have drawn up a four-year contract offer for Hleb's minders to consider.
