Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is keen on Real Madrid attacking midfielder Julio Baptista.
The Guardian says Eriksson is turning to Baptista after being quoted £9 million for Bolton Wanderers striker Nicolas Anelka.
City want to take Baptista on-loan, while it emerged yesterday that Liverpool had tabled a £13.5 million bid for the Brazil international.
