Man City risk losing Kelechi Iheanacho signing

Manchester City risk missing out on Nigerian U17 World Cup star Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Daily Mail says Nigerian reports state Iheanacho passed a medical and signed a deal with City in Madrid last weekend, but he and his father were surprised to realise they would not be paid until the boy turns 18 next year, and have subsequently re-opened negotiations with Porto.

Kennedy Echenwere, one of the coaches at Taye Academy, who are also due payment from the deal told Brila FM radio: "Kelechi is in Lagos now, he has decided to join FC Porto and not Manchester City."

The player and his father have yet to confirm the reports and City are continuing to work on a deal while Chelsea will also monitor developments.
