Manchester City signing Adam Johnson has admitted delight at his move from Middlesbrough.
City signed the 22-year old for £7million which he admits was part of an offer he simply could not refuse and is now looking forward to the challenge of gaining regular first team football at Eastlands.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I couldn't turn down," he said.
"I'm ambitious, and Gordon Strachan understood that. He was fantastic from day one, and I'm thankful for that, and forever thankful to Middlesbrough for what they did for me.
"I've been with them since I was 12 so I'll be forever grateful, and I hope they get promoted this season. It's been a tough day leaving there, but it's nice to get signed and I can't wait to get started."
