Manchester City see Lucio as an alternative transfer target to Chelsea captain John Terry.

The Daily Star says Bayern Munich's central defender is available for £7m, a pittance for City's cash-rich Abu Dhabi group.

Boss Mark Hughes is trying everything to land Terry.

But with Chelsea insisting their skipper is not for sale at any price, Hughes has continued searching.

Lucio is 31 and has only a year left on his deal with Bayern.

Lucio said last night: "It is up to Bayern what they want to do. I am happy in Germany, but I would be interested in a new challenge in another country.''
