Juventus directors remain convinced they are Peter Crouch's preferred choice should he leave Liverpool at the end of this season.

Juve have been chasing Crouch since returning to Serie A at the end of last season and see the England international as a prime transfer target for their return to the Champions League next term.

However, Turin sources say there are some members of the football staff concerned with the spending power of Manchester City and their plans to move for Crouch in January, particularly with Sven Goran Eriksson enjoying a good relationship with the centre-forward.
