Manchester City are pushing to open talks with Benfica for midfielder Javi Garcia.
The Daily Mail says City boss Roberto Mancini's first-team coach Fausto Salsano watched Garcia play in a 5-0 win over Setubal on Sunday.
Garcia, 25, has a £25m buy-out clause and City are understood to have made enquiries to Garcia's agent about his availability.
