Man City push Napoli to take Adebayor in offer for Cavani

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is planning a swap offer for Napoli star Edinson Cavani. The Daily Star says City have stepped up their attempts to land the Napoli hitman after opening talks with the Italian outfit.

They are prepared to treble Cavani's current wages by offering him a massive £160,000-a-week deal at the Etihad Stadium.

Napoli are holding out for a straight cash deal but Mancini would prefer to offer the Italians £30m plus Emmanuel Adebayor.

Adebayor fell out with Mancini last summer and has spent this season on loan at Tottenham.

The Togo star has scored 16 goals and would prefer a permanent move to Spurs, but boss Harry Redknapp is struggling to match his £110,000-a-week wages.

Adebayor may not be keen on a move to Napoli, but Mancini has made it clear he has no future with the Blues.
