Manchester City have made enquiries after Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur.
The Uruguay international is a favourite of City boss Pep Guardiola, who is in the market for a new midfield signing.
Guardiola was beaten by Chelsea for ex-Napoli star Jorginho and Sportitalia says he is now turning to Bentancur.
Barcelona are also being linked with the youngster, though the arrival of Arthur Melo from Gremio has seen their long-term interest wane.
For their part, Juve are desperate not to lose Bentancur, who fought his way into Max Allegri's first team plans last season.
