Manchester City's pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose could indirectly affect Luke Shaw's future, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News.

It has widely been claimed recently that City are keen on securing the services of Spurs star Danny Rose next season and a fee of around £50million has been mooted for the transfer to take place.

Tottenham would most certainly not want to lose Rose but if indeed Spurs do decide to cash in, claims have been made that the North London outfit will look to replace the England international with Manchester United outcast Shaw.

The former Southampton young gun has hardly featured under Jose Mourinho this season and is expected to be offloaded in the summer.
