Manchester City fullback Kieran Trippier is eyeing a Premiership breakthrough next season.

Trippier spent part of last season on-loan at Barnsley.

"We've got a tour to America coming up and I'll be fit by then and would love to play a part in that," he told City's website.

"I've been to the States with the Academy when we had a tournament in Dallas and really enjoyed my time out there. Pre- season would be the ideal time to show the manager what I'm capable of and after that, who knows?

"The gaffer has already proved he is willing to give young players a chance so my aim next season is to get into the senior squad.

"It's going to be an important season for the club and for me and I'm already really looking forward to coming back after the break and hopefully hit the ground running."
