Manchester City have expressed interest in AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy.

The Daily Mail says Milan have vowed to keep striker El Shaarawy despite interest from Manchester City.

His form has alerted Europe's top clubs, but his representative Roberto La Florio says it is unlikely Milan will accept a bid for their star, from home or abroad.

Lo Florio said: "Anyway, the market will open in June, even if I think I have understood that Milan haven't got the intention to deprive themselves of El Shaarawy.

"This was showed by the fact that they renewed his deal until 2018."
