Fernando has revealed that the Manchester City players are relieved that David Silva is fine following his nasty collision against West Ham United.

City managed to end their slump with a 2-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday but there was a huge cause for concern regarding the well-being of Silva.

The Spanish playmaker had received a nasty elbow to the face from Cheikhou Kouyate and required almost 10 minutes of treatment on the pitch before eventually being stretchered off.

To the relief of everyone, however, Silva revealed that he was okay after the game but Fernando has now stated that the players were left really worried for the Spaniard when he was taken off.

"At first it didn't look serious, but once we saw him going off on a stretcher we were worried that it was worse than we thought," he admitted.

"But once we got back to the dressing room and were discussing it, maybe it is not too bad, and we are just happy David is OK, and hope he will be back soon to help us."
