Manchester City are making a shock move for former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi.
The People says Barcelona and Juventus head the queue of clubs keen to land the Villarreal star, 24, but the Eastlands big spenders are now in the frame.
City will offer around £18million - but the Spaniards rate Rossi at around £30m and will stick to their guns.
However, City would be willing to add first-team fringe players into the equation in a bid to try and push a deal through.
Barcelona remains Rossi's first choice although they are also unwilling to go above £18m.
