Man City owners demand big-earning fringe players sold before buying again

Manchester City will seek buyers for at least five senior players in January.

The People says City's Arab rulers decided at their recent summit that the time has come to clear out some of the unwanted big earners.

Billionaire owner Sheikh Mansour wants the payroll drastically reduced in January BEFORE any new faces arrive.

City boss Roberto Mancini will listen to offers for Shay Given, Wayne Bridge, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Roque Santa Cruz - with even Joleon Lescott possibly available and Emmanuel Adebayor on his way if the money is right.

Those six players cost a combined total of around £90million, but City face a staggering loss of £60m on them.
