Man City owners consider ex-Arsenal chief Dein as Cook replacement

Manchester City are going global to find their new chief executive.

The Manchester Evening News says the Abu Dhabi owners are using their own football and business contacts to look at potential candidates to succeed Garry Cook, and are expected to employ a discreet head-hunting company to add to that list.

Several names have already been linked to the Blues, among them ex-Arsenal and FA bigwig David Dein and former Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon.

Both appear unlikely, as City are looking for someone more grounded in global business than in football business.
