Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour wants to win the title next season.
City chairman Khaldoon al Mubarak says Sheikh Mansour believes their project is on track.
"Sheikh Mansour always felt it would be Year Four that we would really go for it and I'm delighted that we are in that position," he said. "What has happened this season is just one step further into the journey we started three years ago.
"It's an important step forward but our ambitions are much bigger. There are a lot more cups to win. Finishing fourth would be a good accomplishment but we want to win the Premier League.
"We go into next season in a very strong position. I feel very good about this season but we're all focused on next year.
"This was fun, it was great but, believe me, the big challenge is next year."
Sheikh Mansour has ploughed in almost £350million to rebuild City's squad and watched their historic day at Wembley back home in Abu Dhabi.
Mubarak added: "The Sheikh was ecstatic about the FA Cup win, he was over the moon. He watches every single game.
"Winning this cup was very special for him. He wanted it for the fans and he's delighted."
