Manchester City have entered talks with Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

El Mundo Deportivo says City boss Pep Guardiola has given the green light for their representatives to meet the player's agent to discuss a future transfer.

Europe's biggest clubs are closely monitoring the Nice star with Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Liverpool all showing an interest.

But the Premier League leaders are ready to steal a march by holding talks.

Seri's current contract expires in the summer of 2019 so the Ligue 1 side will be keen to cash in either this month or at the end of the season or risk losing him for nothing.

Nice were holding out for around £35million in the summer but clubs know his value will continue to drop as his contract comes closer to the end.
