Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is launching a £7 million bid for Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nelsen.

Nelsen is one of the top Hughes targets along with David Bentley, who has been looking to leave Ewood Park.

Hughes saw Nelsen as a key player in defence during his time at Blackburn.
