Manchester City boss Mark Hughes is determined to land Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz in January.
The Guardian says City will offer Blackburn Rovers in excess of £15m or use Darius Vassell and Nedum Onuoha in a possible part-exchange.
Blackburn do not want to lose their best player but the money will be hard to turn down and Santa Cruz has made it clear he wants it to happen.
