Manchester City executive chairman Garry Cook says their failed pursuit of Kaka won't put them off chasing other big names.
Cook told City's website: "It certainly doesn't put us off. We're extremely proud of the fact that we actually had a seat at the table to discuss bringing Kaka to this football club.
"There are many clubs that would love to be in our position and there are only a few clubs that can bring that type of talent to their football club because it's very complex. It's simply not a footballer, it's simply buying a business.
"You have to go through many more stages than you do just offering the football club the money to buy him and then sit down to discuss his personal terms."
