Man City not giving up title belief - Kompany

Vincent Kompany says Manchester City are not about to give up on their Premiership pursuit.

The reigning champions remain seven points behind league leaders Chelsea with 13 matches remaining in the 2014/15 season.

City hammered Stoke City 4-1 at the Britannia Stadium on Wednesday night and captain Kompany felt that was a clear reminder that the Eastlands outfit are capable of fighting to defend their title.

"Belief never goes," said City captain Kompany. "Past experiences should give us enough confidence to carry on and go for it.

"It has happened before. The belief is always there, that is never the problem, even when form is not the best.

"But performances like this make us not need to talk so much. It makes it obvious we are a good team and that is what we need to show."

City now have a nine-day break before returning to Premier League action with a home fixture against Newcastle United on February 21.
