Manchester City No2 Mark Bowen says Carlos Tevez's season start has been plagued by injury.
The £25.5m signing has been plagued by minor injuries this season but is in the running to face Wigan on Sunday after coming on for the last three minutes in the 1-0 World Cup qualifying win against Uruguay.
Bowen said: "Carlos probably isn't operating at 100 per cent yet.
"He is carying bumps and bruises to his ankle and back, but he's playing well enough despite that. In terms of his sharpness and match fitness he will get better, so the best is yet to come from Carlos in the weeks ahead."
