Man City No1 Schmeichel could've signed for Man Utd

Kasper Schmeichel could easily have been wearing Red today instead of Manchester City's Blue.

Schmeichel trained with both Manchester United and City before committing to the Blues when he arrived from Denmark.

Dad Peter played for both clubs and Kasper is set to line-up between the posts for today's big derby.

He has two clean sheets since replacing injured first-choice Andreas Isaakson and his father, United great Peter, was victorious against them in 2002 when City won the last derby at Maine Road 3-1.

"It's hard to say with a young goalkeeper; sometimes he can be nervous, sometimes he can be inspired," said United manager Sir Alex Ferguson
