Man City News: Record kit deal close; Guardiola delighted with Ederson

Manchester City are set to secure a bumper new sponsorship deal with PUMA.

The Daily Mail says City are close to finalising a £50 million-a-year kit contract with Puma, with the deal set to become the largest in their commercial history.

The talks between Pep Guardiola's Premier League leaders and the sportswear giant are near completion.

Their current agreement with Nike, which brings in around £20m each season, finishes at the end of this campaign and club officials were keen to search for better terms.

The figure of around £50m is thought to be on a par with the Nike deal struck by Chelsea, which started this season.

Meanwhile, Guardiola is delighted with the form of Ederson this season.

He said, "When you buy a player from another country, you always have to wait to see how they react and settle with the family, house, kids at school - it is a process and it is not easy for some players but it has been good.

"He is so calm. In the bad or good moments, it is always the same behaviour.

"He gives us a lot of confidence."
