Manchester City and Newcastle are in the hunt for Tottenham's £10million right-back Pascal Chimbonda - with the north Londoners ready to do business, reports the Mirror.
But the Guadeloupe-born defender is set to be sacrificed as Juande Ramos seeks cash for new signings.
Chimbonda joined Wigan for just £500,000 in the summer of 2005 from French club Bastia. Since being at Spurs he has proven he can play on either flank and in central defence.
But his Tottenham career hit a setback in September when he was arrested by City of London police on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and bailed until October.
City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is a big fan of Chimbonda and in the hunt for reinforcements for his side while Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce is hoping to spend big in the January transfer market to solve the club's defensive crisis - should he still be there by then.
