Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is considering a move for Aston Villa goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen.

The People says Sorensen has the backing of City goalkeeping coach Eric Steele, who worked with him at Villa before moving to Eastlands.

Villa manager Martin O'Neill has relegated the Denmark keeper to second choice and he could leave in January as his deal is up in the summer.

Eriksson has other candidates but Sorensen could move for a knockdown fee.
