Manchester City are interested in Schalke 04 midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
The Croatia international has expressed an ambition to play for Atletico Madrid as he comes off contract in June.
However, Datasport says City and Juventus are also in the frame for the midfield schemer.
Indeed, it's suggested City do not want to wait until his deal expires in the summer and intend to bid for Rakitic some time during January.
Rakitic, 23, is ready to leave Germany in 2011 and Schalke would welcome the chance to cash in on him next month.
