Manchester City's pursuit of FC Porto duo Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando is off.

City were being linked with a £35million package deal for the French defender and Brazilian midfielder but that now looks dead in the water.

A private jet had even been booked from Manchester to Porto just in case the deal could go ahead but nothing has eventuated.

City will not do any business before the deadline but could revisit the pair in the summer.
